GCQA Higher Education Fellowship
GCQA's Higher Education Fellowship program recognizes college and university professionals who provide quality teaching experiences for students in the rapidly changing environment of higher education
Two Levels
GCQA Higher Education Fellow
- Completed a master's degree or above in educational specialty
- Minimum of 1 year of experience teaching in higher education
- Document efficient teaching in three courses within area of focus
- Complete 30-hour GCQA Fellows Training program
- Engage in continued development of professional skills
GCQA Higher Education Distinguished Fellow
- Possess either a Ph.D. in area of focus and have a minimum of three years experience teaching in higher education or possess a master's degree and have 6 years of experience teaching in higher education
- Document efficient teaching of five courses within area of focus
- Able to clearly communicate philosophy regarding how students learn in area of focus
- Engage in continued development of professional skills
- Enriches area of focus by performing academic research
- Has a minimum of 1 year experience providing supervision and mentoring services
- Completes an additional 10-hour GCQA fellowship training
Certification Maintenance
Careers and the way people work continue to evolve, and it is important to continue to develop skills in order to best assist students. GCQA recognizes different learning strategies and has developed the following as options for fellows to incorporate new concepts or skills, reexamine fundamental training and skills, and consider other types of services or skills for personal career enhancement.
